RECRUITING CULTURES
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CULTURAL FACTORS IN RECRUITMENT AND ORIENTATION
How can I best receive an applicant from a different culture?
How do I identify an ambitious and motivated applicant?
Why does one of our most common interview questions - "What are your main strengths and weaknesses" confuse some of the applicants?
Is it difficult in some cultures for a male employee to take instructions from a woman, whether
she is his manager or not?
How can I ensure that something has been understood?
This training explores cultural aspects of the recruitment process. We examine how different cultural evaluations show in recruitment criteria, channels and practices, and how they in turn influence our ability to get the best expertise for the open positions.
In the workshop part of the training we construct different ways to recruit and orient employees, and explore how these different ways could be included in the everyday practices of the work community.
Recruitment is also a channel for the organization to gain information, and orientation is a mutual learning process.
